Re: Group By Question
You have two options.
- Keep with your group by but only group based on the Bill ID and then use a join tile to join that back to your original dataset based on the Bill ID, this will put the total on every record with that same bill ID
- The other option is to utilize a Rank and Window tile which will do something similar if you utilize a Bill ID partition with a SUM aggregation.

@ArborRose which table type? Mega and Pivot tables have border options but I don't see it in HTML table.
I think.

Under the admin settings there is an activity log. You need administrator privileges to see it.
Is there a way to run ad-hoc SQL queries against arbitrary PostgreSQL tables?
My company is migrating from Mode Analytics to Domo, and I'm trying to understand whether and how I can run ad-hoc SQL queries against arbitrary tables. As a software engineer, I regularly use Mode's [query editor](https://mode.com/help/articles/querying-data/) to gain insights into our PostgreSQL database data in real-time and run EXPLAIN to see SQL queries' query plans.
So far, I've managed to set up a federated agent and was able to create Federated DataSets that use the agent, but I could only find the Analyzer's GUI interface for querying data.
Does Domo actually have no support for running ad-hoc SQL queries?
Also, would I need to manually create a Federated DataSet for each database table that I'd want to query?
Can I do multiple joins in an ETL?
I need to do a join of 4 separate tables to extract results. How do I accomplish this? Can this be done in a single ETL?
Re: Isolate email addresses from a column using Magic ETL or BeastMode
I think I got the following to work…
REGEXP_REPLACE(`Information`, '.?([a-zA-Z0-9.-]+@[a-zA-Z0-9.-]+.[a-zA-Z0-9_-]+).', '$1')
It seems to be returning the full email address after an initial test, but I need to open up my filter to look at more rows.
Re: A way to show the UTC timezone conversion in the timestamp?
To display a timestamp in Domo with both the converted time zone (PST) and the corresponding UTC offset, use Beast Mode to manipulate the timestamp field by adding or subtracting hours (based on your location). You can calculate the UTC offset for PST (UTC-8:00) and append it to the timestamp using CONCAT.
Re: Isolate email addresses from a column using Magic ETL or BeastMode
REGEX can be tricky, specially when it comes to replacing, so you might want to try a couple of different options until you find one that works, here's one you can try:
REGEXP_REPLACE(`Information`,'.*([a-zA-Z0-9._-]+@[a-zA-Z0-9._-]+\.[a-zA-Z0-9_-]+).*','$1')
Isolate email addresses from a column using Magic ETL or BeastMode
Hello, I am trying to isolate email addresses from an Information column in a Dataset. A sample of the data from the column would be something like 'someone's name [email@email.com]'
I don't necessarily need the name part, but I do need the Email Addresses, which are always bracketed in this column by '[]'.
I am using a Split Column tile in Magic ETL, and in the Choose Delimiter to Split On section I have 'Custom' selected and using the following REGEX code that I'm sure is wrong:
REGEX_EXTRACT([Information], "\[(.*?)\]", 0)
The code compiles, but the newly created column is copying all the text from the Information column (Column that's being split) exactly.
Any ideas how I can only grab the email address that's inside the brackets? I'm sure I'm missing something.
Thank you!
Re: Isolate email addresses from a column using Magic ETL or BeastMode
it’s not matching anything so it’s returning the original string. You can use a formula tile and REGEXP_REPLACE
REGEXP_REPLACE(`Information`, '^.*\[([^\]+).*$', '$1')
