How is it already May?! Nonetheless, it’s time to post the April Community highlights. The Community has been growing steady over the course of the last year, and it’s showing! Discussions, posts, and reactions have 4x what we’ve seen in the past. And every single question asked on the Community Forums within the last year has gotten an answer. That is ZERO unanswered questions in the past year! We will be celebrating this accomplishment with the Community in the near future. Stay tuned.

For those participating in the Domo x Canva Dynamic Infographic Challenge, I'll be hosting three office hour sessions where we can work together to:
- Brainstorming interesting use-cases
- Validate feasibility of your Domo x Canva idea
- Get setup with the Domo App Framework
- Support working through JS, HTML, and CSS implementation of your solution (I'll help you with any code challenges

Re: Custom App Brick with JavaScript, HTML, CSS
I have some good news for you. We are releasing a beta soon for an in browser editor for custom apps. This will provide you with a better editing experience similar to what you have seen with Bricks and have all the templates you can currently get in Bricks. It also doesn't have the restrictions that Bricks have with things like multiple editors, manifest changes (more or less datasets wired, etc), and AppDB access. Check with your account manager if you are interested in more information and participating in the beta.

There isn’t…yet! I’ll make one…maybe I can do it tomorrow. I can use what you’re trying to do as my example.

Yes! I love these ideas. These are things I would love, as a Magic user myself, and they're frequent asks from other customers as well. I'm actively reviewing these ideas with my engineering team.
Re: How to show a month position as at 12 months ago
I would probably create a Beast Mode to find the '12 months ago' data, and use that as a filter on my card so that I'm only showing that data.
I don't know the fields in your data, but it would probably look like:
case when date_sub(date_format(current_date(), '%Y-%m-01'), interval 12 month) = date_format(your_date_field, '%Y-%m-01') then 'Y' else 'N' end
When you drag that to your filter and choose 'Y', the pie chart should only show data from 12 months ago, and will move to the new '12 months ago' every month.
Re: 2 Obstacles to Achieving Automated Reporting - asking for help
I would recommend setting up an ETL with a file upload dataset as an input. You can then in this ETL use the "Add Formula" tile to grab the current date.
Once you execute the ETL once, you can go back in and use the output as an input and append to create a recursive data flow. For example.
Then you'll be able to load the current days data into the excel file connector dataset, which will then kickoff your ETL that will add a column with the current timestamp and append to your master dataset.
Example output
A few things to note. You'll want to make sure your columns are consistent so the append will work as expected. There are other options, such as the email connector, or SFTP depending on how exactly you receive your data.

Re: How to apply filter to card that is always showing the most recent dataset update?
You would want to use a Rank & Window tile in the ETL to assign the most recent data a value of 1. This will be used to filter in a beast mode. Say we call this MOST_RECENT_FLAG
You could then create a beast mode in the card, and filter to where most_recent_flag = 'Most Recent Data'
case when most_recent_flag = 1 then 'Most Recent Data' else 'Not Most Recent Data' end
In terms of a scheduled report, you could use the same filter to show only the most recent updates data.
