Re: Creating new users
Well, Workflows are certainly capable of adding users in Domo. That's really simple.
As far as the trigger - what tells the Workflow to add the user, you've got a couple of options:
1 - Use the SFDC connector to pull in a user list and create an alert when a new record is added, and have that alert trigger the Workflow to create the user.
2 - Create a trigger in SFDC, so when a new user is created it sends a Webhook which acts as the trigger for the Workflow which creates the user.
The first option is a little simpler (although still very simple), the second option is more efficient.
I might suggest the "Getting Started with Workflows" course at LearnDomo.Domo.com. It's free, you can complete it in about 2 hours (spread up in as short as 5 minute chunks) and by the end you'll have deployed and ran 3 Workflows as well as heard tons of use cases.
Re: Governance toolkit - User management
Do you mean User Management in the Governance Toolkit? If so, passwords are not controlled by the configuration DataSet, so your existing users would keep their password. Additionally, there is an option when setting up the toolkit job to "send invite". If you check this, it will send new users an email inviting them to Domo, and they will be walked through setting a password upon clicking on that invite link.

Re: Adding overall value line
@TejalGovila This option exists on the Multi-line chart. Select Chart Properties -> Total line options. Hope that helps!
Re: Beast Mode: Why am I not getting the correct number of enrollments per academic year?
The "DISTINCT" in your COUNT(DISTINCT) will make it so each student is only counted once across whatever level of aggregation you are using in your card. Since students tend to be the same across fall/spring/summer, your count across the terms will be closer to the count of a single term than the sum of the terms. That might be the desired behavior in some cases, as it would be useful to know how many distinct students you have in a given year.
But students typically enroll/pay by term, so it sounds like you want to get a sum of the distinct students by term. If that's the case, you should add a "FIXED" to your beastmode. Something like this:
SUM(COUNT(DISTINCT STUDENT ID) FIXED(BY Term) )
Re: Replicate Spreadsheet P&L in Domo
As an addendum, I think those super wide tables with just a couple rows are hard to scan. To me, it's a lot easier to read across long lists of numbers in columns:
Re: Replicate Spreadsheet P&L in Domo
Here's an approach:
I think you should group your metrics by 'Revenue' and 'Costs'
Then, to get that Total row that is a different aggregation (% gross margin) than your value, a BeastMode that tricks the pivot table into doing that for you:
Then a pivot table:
One of the options on subtotals is to add padding, which acts to separate the categories and the total row. You can also play with the grid lines on the subtotals to create more visual separation from the raw values. Since Revenue only has one category, you can leave it collapsed. You can also suppress single-item groups, but then you lose your padding for revenue.
Re: Display Row count at every step in Magic ETL
Right, in the preview - maybe right here.
I want to know how many rows are contained in the step. So if I have 1000, I blow it up to 2000 on a join, but then land with 500 due to a group by -- just tell me that in the header of each tile after I run a preview. If 500 is what I wanted, then I'm happy.
