Re: How to see Average calls per Minute over the last 30 days?
@Godiepi thank you so much! That worked like a charm! I changed the %h to %H, but other than that everything is perfect!
Re: Help with Beast mode for getting the distinct count by order number for This year and last year
Hi @ozarkram
I'd recommend configuring a date dimension dataset to easier track YOY differences / comparisons. I've done a write up on this topic in the past which you can find here: https://dojo.domo.com/discussion/53481/a-more-flexible-way-to-do-period-over-period-comparisons#latest
You can then utilize a beast mode to count the distinct combinations. I'm concatenating 'ordno' and 'partno' strings to the values in the off chance order number and part number potentially overlap (i.e. O# BC12 / P# 213211 vs O# BC122 / P# 13211 would be the same values even though they're separate)
COUNT(DISTINCT CASE WHEN `Period Type` = 'Current' THEN CONCAT('ordno', `ordno`, 'partno', `partno`) END)
COUNT(DISTINCT CASE WHEN `Period Type` = 'Last Year' THEN CONCAT('ordno', `ordno`, 'partno', `partno`) END)
Re: Year-Over-Year comparison by month
I just used the COVID dataset as a test and it seemed to work. Here is how my pivot table is constructed.
Here are my two beast mode functions:
monthdate = MONTH(`date`)
yeardate = YEAR(`date`)
Is that how yours is constructed? You need the month and year as separate fields.
Re: Year-Over-Year comparison by month
That is strange. You may want to check your date range filter and make sure it is graphing by none.
Also, sometimes I have to remove the sorting and re-add it. Or close the card and re-add it.
Re: Year-Over-Year comparison by month
Woah.. that made all the difference. I was limiting the data to the last 12 months! Thank you for all your help!!!
Re: Number of dashboard visits
@levand ,
What @GrantSmith is referring to is the [Activity Log] report from Domo Stats.
It contains all activity in the Domo instance. Look into it for the field [Action] = 'VIEWED' and [Object Type] = 'PAGE' then the [Object_ID] and [Object_Name] will tell you what Dashboard was VIEWED by 'X' User ... [Event_Time] will tell you when that action happened.
It is just a matter of getting familiar with that dataset and looking closer at things, everything is there like GrantSmith says
Re: I am replacing power BI DAX formula into Beast Mode
Hi @Arjuman ,
Try this below, you might need to add a condition to adjust when dividing by 0
SUM(CASE WHEN YEAR(`ResolvedDate`) = YEAR(CURRENT_DATE ()) THEN `DaysToResolution` ELSE 0 END) / COUNT(DISTINCT CASE WHEN YEAR(`ResolvedDate`) = YEAR(CURRENT_DATE ()) AND `isBugResolved` = 1 THEN `JiraKey` ELSE 0 END)
Re: Dynamic series line bar
Hi @LCash ,
It shouldn't be difficult to do what you are trying to do.
Make sure to select the correct Chart Type and also you might need to create a beastmode to use as a sorting option to make the 'Forecast' series be the first one so that it plots as a line and the rest of series get stacked in a bar.
Re: Dynamic series line bar
@LCash Oh, I see what you are saying
so , with your dataset being formated as the first table in your post, you will need to
1) bring forecast column into the Y-axis (sum Aggregation)
2) for the 'Series' part you will have to add beastmodes for each Product doing the sum of metric like this below
Prodcut X: sum(case when `category` = 'x' then `metric` else 0 end) Product Y: sum(case when `category` = 'y' then `metric` else 0 end) Product Z: sum(case when `category` = 'z' then `metric` else 0 end)
3) with the 3 beastmodes , drag and drop each on the Series, you can add as many as you want to the right side of each. unfortunately this is the only way I see it possible without a flow... I hope the number of products isn't a lot since you will need to create 1 per product
Re: How to see Average calls per Minute over the last 30 days?
Ok, that's doable. You will need to do the following
- Make sure you have a field that only have the Time Minutes for the day.
- I see you have Date/Time
- Extract the Time from it in this format hh:mm (do not include the seconds)
- You will have 1,440 points for each 24hrs
- This formula should do the job TIME_FORMAT(`Date/Time`, '%h:%i')
- This beastmode just created , use it as your x-axis
- Keep your column Date/time in the settings to plot Last 30 days or Last 31 days and exclude the current day (filter it out)
- Calculate the Average
- in your case do, Count(Distinct `CallId`) / Count(Distinct DATE(`Date/Time`))
- dont divide by 30, dividing by Count(Distinct DATE(`Date/Time`)) will give you more flexibility in case you want to toggle between different time ranges... last 30days , last week , current month to date etc
- You now have the 2 main points to fire up your chart
- You can add 'Call Type' in the series but honestly, it will look like a mess even just without the series it is already too many data points plotted that create a lot of noise (consider using maybe 10 minute intervals of even 30 minutes, it will still tell you what the activity is during those times of a day)
- also consider using the 'Call type' either as a quick filter or a card only for that call type that you can put next to each other.
I hope all this help you
