Re: Status tracking for hot board
@gbrown You'll want to use an ETL with the Rank & Window tile to create a 'Current Status' column. You'll want to do use RowNumber and order on Timestamp in descending order, and then partition by part number (and owner if a part number can have multiple owners at the same time). This will give the row with the latest time stamp a row number of 1. You'll then filter the rows to only include row number 1 and you can rename your status column to 'Current Status' in order to differentiate it for the original status column. Then join this back to your original data set, and you can filter out in the ETL or on your card, any row that has 'Current Status' = 'Completed'. Then if it ever pops up in the data again and is in process, it will appear again because that's the latest status.
Re: Fiscal periods in one report
Hi @Jones01 if you haven't done so already, I suggest structuring your fiscal calendar dataset like the Domo Dimensions Calendar dataset (https://domohelp.domo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042931454-Domo-Dimensions-Connector). Then you can join to your fiscal dataset by date, to add columns for fiscal year, period, and week. If you create a separate branch of the same ETL, to filter the fiscal calendar dataset to the current date, then you can join that to create columns for the current fiscal periods.
These ETL changes will allow you to mimic most beast mode date functions. @GrantSmith has done a pretty extensive write-up of how to create these PoP comparions: https://dojo.domo.com/main/discussion/53481/a-more-flexible-way-to-do-period-over-period-comparisons#latest
Re: Is there a short cut for creating a normal distribution (bell) curve in Domo? Thx
Thanks Michelle that's exactly what I was looking for. The chart option wasn't showing, likely due to the data size limitation, which can be addressed. Appreciate your help!
Re: Division of Values
@major_ace - the MOD() function is not the same as dividing two values. But, as long as you have the output you are looking for.
Re: What is the best way to parse URLs?
@ST_-Superman-_ LOL! I'm glad it helped you do some cleanup. I agree with you on the documentation. This function and others show up in the formula tile in Magic ETL, but not when you scroll through the list when you are creating a beast mode in Analyzer. Scroll through the list when you are in Magic ETL and you will see quite a few more that you can use. I've only found a couple that didn't also work in Analyzer.
Re: What is the best way to parse URLs?
I would suggest using the split_part function to extract this.
split_part( split_part(`Profile Picture URL`,'/',4) ,'?',1)
The innermost split_part will get the information after the slash that is after the base domain name. The outer split_part will then extract everything before the question mark.
Hope this helps.
Re: Division of Values
Hi @major_ace if you are looking for a simple division, try this beast mode:
sum(`ProdSales`)/sum(`SvcsSales`)
