Re: Has anyone had success in reporting on the notes object in Salesforce?
Say you go into the Salesforce Advanced connector and pick Browse Objects and Fields...if you put in "note" in the object dropdown as the wildcard, does the 'Note' object and others appear for you to try and connect to? Depending on the SF deployment there could be custom named note objects in use that you'd want to talk with the SF Administrator to help identify.
To identify whether it's a credentials issue, you could always try using SF's Data Loader tool to query directly against the note object using the same credential that's in Domo. If you're not returning data there, then it's probably going to pull all nulls in Domo as well.
Re: Convert all dates to last day of year
Not sure if it was a typo or not... but you have some commas in strange places. Try this:
STR_TO_DATE(CONCAT(`YEAR`,'-12-31'),'%Y-%m-%d')
Re: Convert all dates to last day of year
@apatten You also had spaces extra spaces in your date format qualifiers, which would prevent it from recognizing the dates. @ST_-Superman-_ 's formula should fix that.
Re: Combine columns except when null (i.e., skip null)
you could also try a formula tile to combine:
CASE WHEN `column A` IS NULL THEN `column B` WHEN `column B` IS NULL THEN `column A` ELSE CONCAT(`column A`, ', ', `column B`) END
... Sorry, just re-read your entire post and I noticed that you are combining 8 fields.
CONCAT(CASE WHEN `column A` is NULL then '' else concat(`column A`,', ') end,
CASE WHEN `column B` is NULL then '' else concat(`column B`,', ') end,
CASE WHEN `column C` is NULL then '' else concat(`column C`,', ') end,
CASE WHEN `column D` is NULL then '' else concat(`column D`,', ') end,
CASE WHEN `column E` is NULL then '' else concat(`column E`,', ') end,
CASE WHEN `column F` is NULL then '' else concat(`column F`,', ') end,
CASE WHEN `column G` is NULL then '' else concat(`column G`,', ') end,
CASE WHEN `column H` is NULL then '' else concat(`column H`,', ') end
)
Re: is there any way to move the "Totals" column in a DOMO Pivot Table Card?
@ellen The only work-around I can think of is to restructure your data in a dataflow to add total rows to your data with a value of "Total" in the field you want to define the columns in your pivot table. The challenge with that is that could get messy if you want to apply filters to your card.
Re: Is copying action nodes from one dataset to another possible yet?
@Domomon - If you're asking about copying actions from one Magic ETL dataflow to another, yes it is possible. Just select multiple actions on your ETL canvas and choose the option for Copy to Clipboard. Then navigate to the target Magic ETL dataflow and hit your normal keyboard paste command.
I hope that helps!

Re: is there any way to move the "Totals" column in a DOMO Pivot Table Card?
@ellen No, there is currently not a way to change the position of the total column in a Pivot Table card. Feel free to upvote this Ideas Exchange post requesting the feature add: https://dojo.domo.com/main/discussion/56272/pivot-table-total-column-position#latest
Re: Equivalent of IFERROR(VLOOKUP,IF(RIGHT(- in Magic ETL
@aldwinB From what I can see, your Excel formula is looking for 'AB' at the end of the Category field, but your ETL formula is looking for it at the end of `Product Group name`. That may be contributing to why you don't see the same results.
Also, the correct syntax for checking for nulls is Category IS null, not Category = null.
Re: Splitting up multiple-value fields into multiple rows
@jrtomici Do you have a maximum number of items that could be in your comma-separated list? If so, you could use the Split Columns tile in MagicETL to break them each out. Then you would need to create a branch of the dataflow for each split to filter to the rows that have a value in that position and rename the field you filtered to "Num". After that you can use an Append Rows tile to merge all your splits back together. Unfortunately it's a somewhat tedious setup, but that's how I've been able to work with it.
Re: Making your DDX HTML Brick transparent
So I managed to find the solution to this. Using the background color UI of the brick card to control the background doesn't work. 'Hacking' your CSS does.
By giving the class my div container that holds all my html and the actual html element the same color you have full control over the background of your brick.
