Re: August 2023 Community Forum Highlights
Thank you, @DavidChurchman for your efforts. Also thanks to all who make keep this community active. I hope to be more a part of that in the future.
Thank you @GrantStowell for the shout out. I have been absent from this community as of late. It feels good to be back and seeing not only the level of engagement but also the many use cases with solutions. I expect to be adding more questions and offering what few tidbits of knowledge I have.

Re: Alerts on 100% Stacked Bar
@DomoDave , have you thought about creating a beast mode to filter/calculate for this then adding the beast mode as the summary number? Then you could set the alert based on that.
Re: Booking date and shipment date formula
If you only want to show the orders that meet your criteria, you can create this beast mode and then drag into your filters and filter to include.
CASE WHEN QUARTER(booking_date) = QUARTER(shipment_date) AND YEAR(booking_date) = YEAR(shipment_date) THEN
'Include'
ELSE 'Exclude'
END
Re: HappyReturns API
Have you looked into the JSON Webook connector? That would be an easier solution than creating a custom connector.

Re: Booking date and shipment date formula
CASE WHEN QUARTER(`booking_date`) = QUARTER(`shipment_date`) AND YEAR(`booking_date`) = YEAR(`shipment_date`) THEN `Shipment Dollars` END
You'd want something like this then
Re: Table card subtotals - allow blank labels
Empty characters to the rescue. Copy and paste from - I use manual copy method. Works a treat for any labels including rows and measures. Tidies up a pivot table nicely when the rows our self explanatory etc. Would be nice for this to be an inbuilt feature. (Note to readers not familiar with this, spaces get gobbled away and not persisted so a single space is not the answer).
Re: Bullet Chart Data Labels
@calvert_schaefer @NDoyle Domo informed me this morning that the problem is resolved.
Re: Assigning Students to Various Organizations
Since you already have the rank and priority in each, your ETL will be a little simpler. Here is how I would lay it out.
The filter tile filters to departments that have a vacancy as I noticed you had one that had no vacancies so they shouldn't get any student.s
The Rank & Window tile creates a running total using the sum function and select unbounded and 0 following in priority ascending order.
In the formula tile, I create the start and ending vacancy amounts.
This will create values like this:
Create constants for both the student and department flows like this that you will use in the next join tile.
Join on that Join key with the join tile.
Finally, use the filter tile to filter down so each student is assigned to the appropriate department based on their rank
Hope this does the trick for you.
Re: Keeping only the latest date for unique ID
You would use a rank & window tile in Magic ETL. You would rank your data on date in descending order partitioned by the ID field. You would then use a filter tile to only keep rows where rank = 1.
If you get stuck let me know!
