@emmanuelfabre_1 You can do this using a Group By tile by setting ID as the Group by field and calculating the first non-null value of Source. Then you can join the Group by tile back to the original dataset by ID and replace the original Source field with the one from the Group by tile.

Thanks for posting the desired output. It would be helpful to see what the actual data looks like in your dataset and what you want Domo to do with those values to populate the table.

Any chance you could walk through an example with some data points that match the schema of your dataset? And how you would expect those values to be displayed in your table?

Hide a card based on user or lack of data

Hello!

I need confirmation of something that is an ask from my company that does not seem possible in Domo. We give users access through publication groups where they are limited to only seeing their data in a data set. Some of our users don't see any data because of this as they might not be generating any data for the card.

Is there any way (either through data flowing to Domo saying that this person won't use this card or through the card not having any data to display) to hide that card?

We can't do card level access on a user by user basis as our user base is too large to maintain this. We would need a Domo solution that could respond to the data itself.

You would need to create the zero entry in an ETL. You could do this with a join tile so that every location has a row for each type of value you want to report on.

@carled Whenever you are filtering based off of whether a field is null, you will need to create a beast mode field that uses the "is" operator to check for nulls or the IFNULL function to assign a value to rows with null values. Then you can drag your beast modes into the filters section in the Analyzer.

case when `Date` is null then 'Exclude' else 'Include' end

IFNULL(`issue_type`,'N/A')

Note that this behavior is not specific to Domo. The filters in Analyzer behave like the "=" or "in" operators in SQL, which also do not capture nulls.

There's only so much you can do with smart text, and even if you are to use the date of last refresh for the Dataset, that might not be the date/time of the latest entry. For things like this I'd do the formatting in a Textbox card, and work either from the _BATCH_LAST_RUN_ or the column that actually contains your data. Then you can use a beast mode like:

CONCAT('Transactions reflected up to: ', DATE_FORMAT(MAX(MAX(`Date Column`) FIXED()),'%Y-%m-%d'))

Are you doing this inside a formula tile or a beast mode? If it’s a formula tile in ETL you can’t use aggregations (SUM) as it doesn’t know how to group them. You can do it using a group by tile in magic instead and have a custom aggregation

alternatively you can remove the sum in your formula and then just sum your new field in your card

You should be able to use the CONCAT to add a day on the end, such as 1 and then convert it to a date. Like this:

DATE(CONCAT(datefield,'-01'))
