Re: Order By
@ArborRose you can actually set the order of the output dataset without modifying the ETL and adding a select columns tile. In the Data Center, click on your dataset and then click on Data and then the Schema icon that is on the right. Hover over the left side of the page and you can click and drag any column to the order that you want.
Re: All cards using federated data sets and using filters are broken
@DatAIBrain - Have you logged a case with Domo Support for this yet? This sounds like something that Domo Engineering may need to look at.
Re: How to remove duplicate records from the drill down view
You can create a custom drill path instead of going to the default table view. In your custom drill path, just aggregate a value with email address as the first column and there won't be duplicates.
Re: MTD and YTD TOGGLE
CASE statements are exclusive, so once it finds an option that is true, it exits and doesn't evaluate other options. Not sure really how to explain it better, but I do have the solution.
This is what variables are for! :) They are wonderful honestly. Create a variable that has your options of YTD and MTD, then create a Beast Mode like this:
(CASE
WHEN `Date Filter Variable` = 'MTD' THEN (CASE WHEN MONTH(`Start/Invoice Date`) = MONTH(CURRENT_DATE()) AND DAY(`Start/Invoice Date`) <= DAY(CURRENT_DATE()) THEN 'Yes' ELSE 'No' END)
WHEN `Date Filter Variable` = 'YTD' THEN (CASE WHEN DAYOFYEAR(`Start/Invoice Date`) <= DAYOFYEAR(CURRENT_DATE()) THEN 'Yes' ELSE 'No' END) ELSE 'Yes'
END)
Then add your Beast Mode as a filter (but not a quick filter, as that is what the variable will serve as) and select Yes.

Thanks for the update and quick response
Re: Dynamic Top N Tooltip Beast Mode
I don't think you can concatenate strings across rows using BeastModes, which seems to be the fundamental challenge here. I'm mostly commenting in case I'm wrong and someone posts a way to do that.
Depending how many different types of filters you have and how many different product categories, you might be able to create every possible iteration of top three customers for each potential filter in an ETL and do it that way. You'd end up with a lot of redundant data, so you'd have to use FIXED functions on the card. I don't recommend this, but I think it would be theoretically possible.
I'm assuming you know this, and it's not what you're asking for, but it would be a lot easier to have a separate table card that you could cross filter with the map: click on a state and see the top three customers from that state (plus any other filters you've added).
Re: Scheduled Reports Update
More flexibility on Custom Report scheduling would be awesome! Quarterly for sure would at a minimum be great but also custom time frames like you can set on the ETLs would be even better.
Re: How to use filters to calculate MTD, QTD & YTD using 3 different cards?
Interesting that so many suggest variables or parameters. I don't even think I'm using variables for anything.
I have posted examples previously with the way I do this. I create an ETL with aggregates that include fields for CY, PY, P2Y, etc. The same aggregate tiles include calculations for MTD, QTD, etc. For things like MTD or QTD, you just add more criteria for whether your date field is whatever quarter or month, or less than current month, etc.
CY:
sum(
case when YEAR(date) = YEAR(CURRENT_DATE())
and date <= CURRENT_DATE()
then amount else 0 end
)
PY:
sum(
case when YEAR(date) = YEAR(CURRENT_DATE())-1
and date <= DATE_ADD(CURRENT_DATE(),-365)
then amount else 0 end
)
or
sum(
case when YEAR(date) = YEAR(DATE_ADD(CURRENT_DATE(),-365))
and date <= DATE_ADD(CURRENT_DATE(),-365)
then amount else 0 end
)
Re: Radio Button Filter Card - Set the default selection?
How can Domo get something so basic as this so wrong, and then not address it for years after it is brought up?
Re: How to use filters to calculate MTD, QTD & YTD using 3 different cards?
@TejalGovila - I would say that variables are probably your best bet. You would want to define the logic for the date ranges and then use that variable inside of a case statement. You can then place the variable on to a dashboard as a control, and let users toggle.
