Re: Mega-Ultron-Super-Duper Connected Dataset to rule them all
@Data_Devon I would suggest going the append route for this data and adding a Category column to indicate the source of each row (Budget, Financials, etc.). Then you can use beast modes to present the output in a single card like this:
Budget Revenue: sum(case when Category = 'Budget' then Revenue else 0 end)
Actual Revenue: sum(case when Category = 'Financials' then Revenue else 0 end)
Variance:
sum(case when Category = 'Financials' then Revenue else 0 end) -
sum(case when Category = 'Financials' then Revenue else 0 end)
You should also check out @GrantSmith's writeup about how to do period-over-period analysis, which may be helpful for this type of data:
Re: Alter Column: file to convert type String to Date
Hello @verytiredgirl,
Why don't you try Dynamic Unpivot instead of Unpivot?
If your data initially includes columns for Jan 2024, Feb 2024, Mar 2024, and Apr 2024, start by Add Constant tile, then perform a dynamic unpivot. Here's an example:
Initial Dataset:
Magic ETL:
Add Constant tile:
Dynamic Unpivot tile:
Result:
Then you can remove the TEMP column and convert the Date column in any format you like.
Re: Alter Column: file to convert type String to Date
Hi @verytiredgirl,
Could you please take a screenshot of your initial dataset columns?
If you have other columns, then Add Constant is not needed. Just add all the columns you don't want to unpivot here:
Re: Previous day status from snapshot data
You can use a Rank and Window tile with LAG to get the prior value based on your sorting.
Re: Add dynamic columns in variable dashboards
Any updates when this feature will be available in Domo? It is very important to update the column title based on the value selected in the variable so there are no gaps in reading the chart properly by users. Also if the X-Axis and Y-axis labels can be dynamically updated based on the variable selection that will be very helpful too!
Re: I have a column that is called Bill Amount. Why would some cells be blank?
I see, it's a file that you're importing and the source has a value but somehow during the process of importing the file the value is getting dropped. If the values are being dropped sporadically and you can't determine a reason why then I feel that it's a Domo Support issue.
Re: CLI with Task Scheduler
Have you tried putting the commands in a script and then calling the CLI tool in the scheduler and passing in the path to the script?
EXAMPLE:
java -jar C:/Domo/java/domoUtil.jar -script c:\directory\<uploadfile.script>
the scripting option is described at the bottom of the KB Article: https://domo-support.domo.com/s/article/360043437733?language=en_US
Re: Dashboard Mock/Wire
Seconding
Something like this would be helpful for an overall reporting process, helping us establish KPI's and set the storytelling so everyone is on the same page. Just being able to pick from specific charts we will use, scorecards, etc will save us a ton of time and make sure nothing gets lost in translation!
Re: Copy Page to Another Tab in App
big plus one to this - especially if you have a nice layout of filters/controls on the page. It's hard to replicate that without a disruption in spacing, and all the various design elements could be replicated more seamlessly if you could duplicate a page from within the same app.
Re: How is remove duplicate actually work?
Can we please have the response email in this thread. I had some issues and a detailed explanation would have been helpful
