Re: Remove Inactive Users Automatically from Domo.
There is not something out of the box that would do this. You can easily build a card that would show your inactive users. If you have the Domo Stats dashboard, there is already a card built that shows you inactive users. However, the tricky part is removing them. You would need to build some API calls in order to delete someone. As a best practice, you would also want to move any content they own (datasets, dataflows, pages, card) to someone else so nothing is orphaned. There would be a series of calls you would need to construct.
Re: How to remove a decimal in an area dimension column?
You can use the formula tile and use the replace function like this:
REPLACE(fielname,'.0','')
This would replace .0 with nothing which would then make it read how you want.
Re: Remove weekend days from calculations
That's brilliant. Thanks for your super prompt reply. Have a great weekend when it arrives 😁
Re: Checklist to diagnose elongated runtimes from adding one simple join
Are you using Magic ETL 2 for you dataflow? That will run faster than MySQL or Redshift dataflows, so I would switch to that if you aren't already using it.
You can also investigate the individual steps of a dataflow by going to the history tab of your dataflow and then going to the far right of the latest run and click on the 3 dots that appear when you hover over the area and click on view details. This will show you the individual steps of your dataflow and how long they each took. This will help you troubleshoot.
Re: How do I know if a dataset is using Basic or Advanced Scheduling?
I agree that it could be improved and it is more obvious to the end user which type of scheduling is being used.
Glad it helped. If you can mark the answer as accepted, it will help others in the community that have the same question.
Re: Survey - Count the answers.
You can separate the multiple answers out into separate columns using the Split Column tile in Magic ETL. You would need to use multiple tiles to account for the maximum number of answers that a person might have selected. Once they are all separated, I would recommend adding an Unpivot tile so that you have a single column called answer and if a person had selected 3 colors, it would result in 3 rows, one for each answer. It is then very easy to count the results.
Re: How can I transform a Time column?
When time elements are uploaded into Domo, it assumes they are in UTC already and then displayed for you in the timezone in your company settings, which is why you see a shift. If you can't make use of the option in Workbench for this file, you can adjust it in Magic ETL by connecting a formula tile to the input dataset and then either using the ADDTIME(), SUBTIME() or CONVERT_TZ() functions to move it to UTC.
Hope this helps.
Re: Angled Data Labels?
You can't turn them at an angle, but I would suggest you make your chart a horizontal bar chart instead of vertical bar chart, which will make the labels easier to read.
Duplicates : counting them, not removing them?
Whats the best way to count duplicates in a table using ETL and or Beast mode on a card? Lets say I have a table of data that shows me how many times each class uses a specific tool so I end up with a table with a list of classes who have used the tool. And, each class can have multiple entries showing each time they included that tool.
I want to add a column to the table that counts how many times each unique class uses the tool so in the card to visually show the data, I want to show a list of unique classes that used the tool and then the extra column showing the number count of how many times that class used the tool.
Thanks!
Re: Create a summary number as calculation aggregate sum expense minus aggregate sum reimbursements
You want to put your sum() around your case statement:
sum(case when `Expense Type` = 'Expenditure' then `Account Balance` else 0 end)
-
sum(case when `Expense Type` = 'Reimbursement' then `Account Balance` else 0 end)
