Turn off Magic ETL notifications
Can we please turn off the notifications for large grid recommendation? There's a setting for under the settings icon. I'm getting tired of closing this every time I go into a flow.
I also don't think we need the mini map cluttering the window.
Re: Filter within dataflow
If you're filtering on that number of values, it might be easiest to create a DataSet containing those values and use it as an input to the Magic ETL DataFlow, at which point you could use a join to filter on those values (inner join to filter to the list of values, or outer join and then subsequent filter to filter to the list of everything except the values). Alternatively, if the filter values follow some kind of definable pattern (like all starting with the same string, or all being within a certain range of ordinal values) then you could write a formula rule in the Filter tile, like Colemen is suggesting. Essentially, if you can express your filter rule using SQL, you can write a formula rule in the Filter tile to represent it.
I wouldn't recommend trying to create a massive IN/NOT IN list of distinct values to filter on within the tile, that seems like it would be tedious and potentially error-prone.
Re: Printing Cards that are Longer than One Page
Jae,
I mostly agree with you, but we have an instance of this where the data needs to be exported to a PDF, so that it cannot be changed easily for financial reporting and storage. The users do not want to export it to excel, because it can be easily changed.
Re: Ways to visualize datasets impact beyond first level
I agree. It would be helpful to be able to see "Direct Impact" vs "Total Impact" as separate columns in the DomoStats/Governance datasets. In our case we could use this information to more quickly prioritize dataset cleanup/migration projects.
Re: Revert Scheduled Reports Interface
Agreed. Very abrupt and disruptive change with poor communication and guidance. Not well thought through at all. Here's some additional oversights made with this change
- Cannot scroll down the list of dashboards, cards and reports (must select each deliberately)
- Cannot type in a scheduled report time – must use the drop-down thus slowing down changes
- Cannot filter report history (i.e., not by dashboard, card, date range, etc.).
- For years, the Domo community has asked that scheduled reports be setup in something other than quarter-hour increments. This was ignored again in favor of unnecessary changes.
Re: Revert Scheduled Reports Interface
I wholeheartedly agree. As someone who owns dozens of reports, the ability to see all the major details in a single list was vastly superior. I regularly do a check for any scheduled reports that are due to expire and was previously able to spot this at a glance. To now have to click on each item to inspect them individually is significantly less efficient. To be honest I fail to see how the change makes anything better.
Re: Group ownership of dataset should allow anyone in group to submit for certification
My organization has the same problem. It makes the group ownership kind of useless for us.
