Allow filter changes made in Expanded View to be applied and retained after closing the view
When a user hovers over a card, they are able to view and click on an expand button. This allows them to make changes to the card from a more close-up view and see the effects in real-time. This is quite helpful with things like charts, but if the card is something like a time range filter like a draggable line or…

App Studio – Require One Value to Always Be Selected in a Filter
I have several global dropdown filters in an App Studio page (Region, Country, Account Language, etc.) that apply to all visualizations on the page. For these dimensions, the underlying dataset includes a pre-aggregated “All” value. For example, Country = All contains metrics already aggregated across all countries.…

Filtering on NULL or empty-string values
Filtering directly on NULL or empty-string values is a limitation of the current Domo filtering functionality. It would be extremely useful if Domo could fix this bug.

Sandbox repository support for dataflows with split filter or split join tiles
Currently sandbox doesn't support promoting repositories with dataflows that contain either a split filter or a split join tile. This makes the sandbox unusable with dataflows that contain these features. Please update the sandbox to be able to function with dataflows with the split filter and split join features.

Period Over Period use as interactive filter only filter to the Date Range set in Analyzer?
I have a Period Over Period Grouped Bar with: x = Last Day Month y = Sales Date Range = This Year Graph by = Quarter Compare to: Year Over Year, 1 year ago, 2 year ago, 3 year ago When clicking a historical quarter such as 2024-Q2 on my Period Over Period Grouped Bar chart, the App filter is resolving to the current year…

Clear Filters button while keeping one page filter selected in App Studio
I have an App Studio page with several dropdown filters: Month, Region, Country, Language, and Search Surface. The Month filter defaults to Latest Month, and I need at least one month to always be selected on this page. (For additional context, I’m implementing the latest-month default and displaying the latest available…

Smarter Dynamic Beast Modes
A lot of projects have come up lately of needing a Rank & Window style function but needing it to be dynamic, mainly with Dates. I've gotten so close so many times, but the beast mode always fails on summing up the final amount, and not having the card aggregated by the rank that's assigned. For example, I have a Beast…

Force a filter selection on filter card
I need (and have often needed) a way to force a selection on a filter card for a dashboard. I know I can set default values, but I need a way to ensure at least one selection is always made. Anyone found a workaround here?

Save Filter View for Dashboards & App Studio Pages with Selected DataSet
For dashboards and app studio pages that consist of cards across multiple datasets, the page filters are automatically set to the first dataset in an alphabetically sorted list. However, there are often situations where 1 dataset may not contain all the values as another dataset for a column intended to be filtered on. The…

How can an App Studio month filter dynamically default to and visibly display the latest available m
I have a monthly dashboard in Domo App Studio where I need the reporting month filter to automatically default to the latest month available in the dataset whenever new data arrives. My dataset already contains a Latest Available Month column derived from the maximum Month. I also created a Beast Mode called Dynamic…

App Studio Controls/Filters
While creating apps with multiple pages/tabs we don't often use the same dataset for each card we put on a dashboard (app in this case, woohoo for app studio!) Where we are running into trouble here is that page filters only have the option to select a singular dataset rather than all datasets where the field is present.…

How many X did we do in Y?
Howdy 🤠 Since Domo acts as our database, we get lots of questions about relatively simple ad-hoc one time reports. "How many x did we do last year?" "Who did the most y?" "What's our average y per x?" They are all simple, but different enough that I can't make a dashboard to answer all of them. I typically just spin up an…

Having the date variable be based on data in the dataset
I'm running into an issue where I need to use two date variables in an app studio app so users can select a start and end date, however, the data used in the dashboard is only updated monthly, halfway through the month. Right now I have it set up to look at the beginning of the year as the start date and "yesterday" as the…

Taking an average of the dataset an comparing
Hi all, I am working for a mortgage provider and am trying to compare a specific lender's production to the average of all of them. The goal is to take the count of their loan id (over a period of time) and compare that to AVG(COUNT(Loan ID)) over () over that same period of time. When i set this up in a table, i get what…

Variables inside Magic ETL
It would be nice to be able to declare a variable inside the ETL whose value could be used elsewhere like you would in a TSQL script declare @Date as date set @date='20260712' then for anyplace you want to reference a date you can drop in @Date. This would help make using the date tiles so I can have a single branch to…

Is it possible to create a filter that handles multi-picklist options?
We have a salesforce field that I'd like to create a filter off of but it's a multi-picklist field. So we have 10 unique options but more than 1 can be selected for any opportunity. Rather than have a filter that just shows every combination that's available I'd like ot make a filter that shows the 10 unique values and if…

Add a Sorting setting to HTML cards
HTML table cards do not have a 'Sorting' feature in the card settings. This setting is available in Mega and Pivot table cards. This is a much overdue feature for a table card that can be quite versatile in representing data.

App Studio - Default Dataset for Filters
Hi Domo Community, I have an App Studio app that uses multiple datasets. Is there a way to set a default dataset so page-level filters automatically apply across all cards/datasets? Currently, users may need to interact with dataset mappings, which creates a less seamless experience. Can a default dataset be designated in…

Inconsistent Interaction Filter Behavior
I have noticed that summary numbers do not update to reflect interaction filters applied from their parent card. However, they do update correctly when the same interaction filter is applied from a different card. I am seeing similar behavior with chart legends. When an interaction filter is applied from another card and…

Filter Selection not working
I've been having issues with selection filters for the last couple of weeks- when I select a value to filter on in Analyzer and apply it, nothing happens. The data doesn't filter, and I can't apply a quick filter either. I've tried with a few different cards but the problem persists- has anyone had any issues with this?…

Observation on Variable and Set Variable Reset Behavior in Domo Apps
Hi, During the implementation of a Domo App, I noticed some user experience inconsistencies between the existing Variable functionality and the newer Set Variable functionality, and I wanted to understand whether there is a better approach or recommended best practice. Scenario 1: Standard Variable Control I have a Month…

Native Array Filtering in Analyzer
The Problem: To use an array/multi-value field (like tags) as a dashboard filter, we currently have to UNNEST the data in the ETL layer. On large datasets (our base table is 8.7B rows / 8.5 TB), unnesting explodes the data size exponentially. This forces us to write heavy, complex windowed Beast Modes to avoid…

Dynamic Variables: Dropdown Selector Compatibility and Multi-Select Support
Hi Team, I recently watched the new Dynamic Variable feature introduction and started testing it in my dashboards. The feature looks very useful and promising for creating more interactive experiences. However, I have a question regarding the Dropdown Selector behavior with variables. What I tried: Created a Dynamic…

Add details around "last" in the date selector
I've had multiple users over the last few weeks tell me the dashboard or card is not filtering correctly when they change the date range using the global date filter on a dashboard or on a card. This issue is they are looking for data from last year or last week and selecting "Last 1 Year/Week" in the filter selection…

Enhancement Idea for "Set Variables" Feature – Dropdown Selector & Multi-Select Support
Hi, First of all, great work on the new Dynamic Variable feature. It is a very useful enhancement for building more interactive dashboards in Domo. I wanted to share an enhancement idea that could make this feature even more flexible and user-friendly. Currently, I am using Dynamic Variables with Slicer cards, and the…

Inheriting PDP policies for a given user when querying the dataset?
Hi, So we're trying to build a user facing app that will be fed DOMO data. In particular its a chatbot that will be able to query and read in DOMO data for user insights and actionable recommendations. The issue we're facing is, each of our users have particular data policies and these policies are encapsulated in a PDP…

Set explicit variable value from card click
This is an addition to the current set variable functionality. Allow the specificiation of the value to be set by card. i.e. if I have a title/text card that says Applicants Year to Date, let me specificy that clicking that card sets a variable to "Applicants YTD". Ideally the value it sets would be customizeable and not…

Filtering on Null Values
I have seen this question/idea opened and closed several times but I will submit again that a user being able to include or not include null values with a simple filter is important. I understand the ETL and beastmode workarounds but it is not scalable to have every request run through a limited data team just to find out…
