First of all, great work on the new Dynamic Variable feature. It is a very useful enhancement for building more interactive dashboards in Domo.
I wanted to share an enhancement idea that could make this feature even more flexible and user-friendly.
Currently, I am using Dynamic Variables with Slicer cards, and the functionality works great. One of my use cases is Month-Year filtering for rolling/trailing revenue calculations. Since my dataset contains Month-Year values from 2023 through the current date, the slicer displays many values and starts to look a bit cluttered on the dashboard.
For scenarios with larger value lists, Dropdown Selectors provide a much cleaner and better user experience compared to slicers. It would be great if Dynamic Variables could also support Dropdown Selector cards for the “Set Variable” interaction.
Additionally, multi-select support for Dynamic Variables would be another valuable enhancement for advanced filtering and comparison use cases.
Suggested Enhancements:
- Support Dynamic Variables with Dropdown Selector cards
- Add multi-select support for Dynamic Variables
I believe these enhancements would help create even more powerful and user-friendly dashboard experiences.
