Adding 1 year to a date and returning the new year
Hi,
I am trying to return the year after a specific date, I tried the below but it is not returning what I anticipated
WHEN MONTH(`hireDate`)>=2 AND MONTH(`hireDate`)<=4 THEN CONCAT(YEAR(ADDDATE(`hireDate`,INTERVAL 1 Year)),' - Q1')
For example, if the hireDate was 02/01/2023, the return should be '2024 - Q1'

What about dates that come in January / Month 1? Or dates that happen in other quarters? Should those be returning Q1 or their respective quarter?

February to April = YEAR + 1 - Q1
May to July = YEAR + 1 - Q2
August to October = YEAR +1 - Q3
November + December = YEAR + 1 - Q4
January = YEAR - Q4
Once I figure out the YEAR + 1 bit I can do the rest

In that case, you can offset your data by one month to get the correct quarter. Try something like this.
CONCAT(YEAR(`hireDate` - INTERVAL 1 MONTH) + 1, '-Q', QUARTER(`hireDate` - INTERVAL 1 MONTH))
