Static national average not affected by filters

Hi,

I am looking to create a DOMO card with a static national average line that does not change with filters. The goal is to be able to compare a filtered view against that national average directly in the card.

Has anyone done anything similar?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi @user007952 ,

You might be able to accomplish this using an ETL to calculate the national average since you can't do this as a beast mode as filters would affect the number. Take your data and calculate the average. Then adding a constant (Call it "join column" and set the value to 1) on both your calculated average dataset and the original dataset. Join them both together on this join column and then you should have the national average as a value for each row in your data table. You can then plot this line using an appropriate graph.

  • There is a beta feature in development that will support this.  talk to your CSM.  I believe it's called filter groups.
