Redshift Cast as VARCHAR changing last character

I am testing out Redshift and noticing that when casting a column as VARCHAR in Redshift, the final character in some rows is being altered.  After checking and rechecking the input, the data source is correct and the only change we are making is to cast as VARCHAR type.  We are unsure of why this would be occuring, and seems to have began over the past week.

    Can you provide an example along with the select statement you used in redshift?
