Re: Request Manager Approval for Multiple Employees in 1 email
It sounds like you need to iterate through the dataset twice to get what you want.
First pass: Group the results by manager to send a single notification email per manager. Unless personalization is crucial, you can simplify the email content since the manager will be directed into Domo to complete tasks anyway. If you do want to list employees in the email, loop through each manager’s employees and build a concatenated list to include in the message body.
Second pass: Create an individual approval task for each employee, assigning it to the appropriate manager. That way, managers receive just one email but see distinct tasks for each direct report requiring access approval.
Re: Table Column Display Type Link - Open in New Tab
@tpfeiffer54 not at the moment. You can make an HTML link using an a tag and add the target="_blank" property to it, which is what I've been doing forever. But using this new feature that doesn't require a Beast Mode and writing HTML, there isn't a way for it to open in a new tab.

Re: Beast Mode Case-When Grouping Not Supporting Occurrence Count
Hi afieweger
I don't believe what you're looking to do can be achieved with a beast mode, you would have better success doing this in an ETL.
The issue is that your distinct count will count all bm views when you remove the email column and that is why you're ending up with only the 250+ row. Even a FIXED function would not work, because it requires a second aggregation ie SUM(COUNT (DISTINCT `bm view`) FIXED (by email)) and that second aggregation would give the same result.
Re: How do I show a 2 bar chart using 2 different columns?
In the chart types, choose Grouped Bar. In your chart, drag PlannedHours into your y-axis and set an aggregation type. Next, drag Actual Hours into the series and set an aggregation type.
Re: updateUserRole not recognising inputs
Hey NateBI I got your ticket and figured out what the issue is. I've sent a response back to the Support team but am posting here so other know what is happening. Unfortunately, we have a bug where editing a start parameter is only saving changes to the displayName and this causes a missmatch between the display and what the backend is using. Normally this causes the Start to immediately fail but in some of your earlier versions you had another param with that same name and then it would get past the start and fail on the function because the values weren't being set correctly. We are working on an immediate hotfix for the issue but for you or anyone else seeing this the quick workaround is to just delete and remake the start parameters.
Re: How can I open a popup form through a text component in App Studio?
If you use a Pro-Code App, you can use React and find a component library that makes things a lot quicker and easier to build. I'd recommend React Hook Forms, AWS Amplify, Chakra UI, React Bootstrap, or Material UI for starters. AWS Amplify also has a way to build forms without code, then import it into React and modify as you please: Amplify Studio. And, don't forget to use the Domo React Toolkit to make connecting to Domo APIs in React easy.

Re: How can I solve this error that appears when I try to test my AI agent in DOMO?
The forbidden error makes it look like your user doesn't have permission to use whatever tools you told it to use. Do you have access to AI?
Re: Identify percentile within a grouping
@verytiredgirl sorry for the late reply. I used the 'Maximum' aggregation
In this example, "GDV Rank" is the field that contains the ranked values for each partition. This Group By transform gets the max value for each partition. I then merge this back with the main dataset so each row has a rank and a max rank that will allow for a percentile calculation
Re: DataSet Folders
I feel like there's an idea requesting folder-style organization about once a month (whether it's for datasets, dataflows, apps, pages, etc.). Below I'm listing some of those that are most similar to your idea to show that even though most of these only have a few votes, collectively they show it is a big enough issue that people feel compelled to post it regularly. Here goes:
According to this idea, folders were on the roadmap back in June 2024:
This one was closed with a recommended workaround:
There was some spicy debate on this one on the merits of tags over folders:
