Re: Pulling String Before & After Characters
Using a formula tile you can use a regexp_replace function to extract just the domain:
REGEXP_REPLACE(`email`, '^[^@]+@([^\.]+)\..*$', '$1')
^ - match the beginning of the string
[^@]+ - Match 1 or more (+) of characters that are NOT (^) the @ symbol.
@ - match the literal @ symbol
[^\.]+
() - Store this for later reference in a match variable. Since this is the first instance it's stored in $1
[^\.]+ - Match 1 or more (+) of characters that are NOT (^) the . symbol. \ is to escape the . character as it has special meaning in regular expressions of any character.
\. - match the literal . character
.* - match 0 or more (*) of any character (.)
$ - match the end of the string
$1 - Where the value between the parenthesis are stored.
Re: Pulling String Before & After Characters
Using the Replace Text tile, do the following:
The 2nd one is a bit hard to read in the screenshot, it is: \ . . *
Be sure to check "use regex" for both as shown below:
Re: Color Rules for variable comparisons
The cards have no way to communicate with each other in that way, you will have to set color rules based on certain values that appear within that card. You can, however, have a filter applied to one card from another card and then have the filter effect color rules. Here is a KB article on dynamic color rules, use case #2 seems like it would solve for what you are trying to do:
Re: Remedying Data Recording Issues on the Front End in Domo
Thank you for sharing the sample data, that is helpful. What I would try is putting together a table of items and their associated prices per state (this could be done with a Domo webform or Excel File upload), then join that with your data provided above on item name and state (and date because I am sure the prices change over time). That would give you Unit Price (column E in your sample data). You could then create a beast mode or use a formula tile in Magic ETL to derive unit (transaction) quantity: Revenue/Unit Price.
