Re: Sorting Beast mode
Add a new beastmode to put into your sorting:
when DATEDIFF(date,published_date) >0 and DATEDIFF(date,published_date) <=29 then 1
when DATEDIFF(date,published_date) >29 and DATEDIFF(date,published_date) <=59 then 2
etc…
Re: Sorting Beast mode
@cmarino The reason it's sorting like that is because the beast mode is being sorted as text and not a number. You could either add a leading 0 to your labels (i.e. 01 Month, 02 Month, etc.) or create a second beast mode with a formula of DATEDIFF(date,published_date) to use as your sort field.
Re: Distinct Count of Donations and Distinct Count of Donors with those Distinct Count of Donations
I've gotten close, but I can't get 100% there.
I am using a count of the donation_id field and then this beastmode:
(COUNT(DISTINCT donor_id) OVER (PARTITION BY COUNT(donation_id)))
I can't seem to figure out why that extra row is there at the bottom of the table:
I am guessing it has to do with the fact that there are 4 unique donor_id's and a row is being created for all 4.
So close, but not quite there.
Re: Trimming Pivot Table to Only Display Items with Top Totals
Filtering pivot tables is often tricky, specially if you're expecting the data displayed to be responsive to filters on the page or dashboard level, and even more if you want to limit to a specific top "X". If a less restrictive approach is acceptable, you can build a BeastMode that tells you the actual total for each row at the level you want, and filter the table to only include those that are above a certain threshold, something like:
SUM(SUM(`Views`) FIXED(BY `Page title`))
Then you can use this as the Sorting and Filter of the Pivot Table:
While it won't limit it to the top X, you can rule out anything that you'd consider to be noise by setting up a threshold after which you do want to show things. In this case I did TotalViews >= 2000 as my filter.
The reason you need a BeastMode with the fixed function is that otherwise the filter will apply to the level of the SUM of the fields, so in my case that the Quarterly views on each quarter, so it all depends on what you need.
Re: WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU: Where do you go for information for and help with Domo?
For me I start with KB articles. If I am still stuck I go to the Domo Community forums. And lastly I go to my CSM and/or AE.
Re: WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU: Where do you go for information for and help with Domo?
It depends on what I'm looking for, if it's generic information I'd go to the KB articles first, but when it comes to specific scenarios, I'll lurk the forums for similar questions or YouTube if I recall seeing a video somewhere on the topic by one of the many amazing contributors here in the forum (their channels are an amazing resource for those who have yet to check them out).
Re: Building Data Mart inside Domo
@vibhusharma2210 the short answer is yes you can build a data warehouse in Domo. Here is the knowledge base article on this topic:
As far as limitations/challenges it really depends on your use case, how much you want to do within the Domo instance vs before passing your data into Domo, etc. Really an architecture strategy…

Re: In App Editable Data and Real-Time Visualizations
Yes, a Domo Webform is a common way to do this. If you tie the form responses to an ETL, then you will see the results once the ETL has run. You can also use the ETL to join it to other data to incorporate into your visualization if needed.
Form Builder is another option, but that is a premium feature.
