Re: Click to select, not deselect
currently this isn’t an option but you could either put this as an idea in the idea exchange or you could write your own custom app or Domo brick to do this interaction
Re: Error in workbench, Dataset is currently locked and cannot be executed right now
if your data is exactly the same then you can swap it out but be mindful of any downstream triggers that may be reliant on your old data
Re: Group By Tile to JOIN Tile Produces Unexpected Result. Using an Output Tile as an Input Fixes It
It sounds like you are encountering different levels of aggregation - the left table and the right table aren't matching correctly. Make sure the tables are aggregated consistently, and that the data formatting match.
If there are duplicate 'Project ID' values in the left table and not in the right table, you will get unexpected results. Make sure you are using the correct type of join (e.g. LEFT JOIN).
Re: Workflow Configuration
Sorry about the confusion, @Jbrorby . Yes, we rolled out one of two UI/UX adjustments and only 1 has gone into effect. I hurried and put the training out knowing the changes were coming, with the idea being I could get feedback to incorporate into the recut which will happen soon once the second change drops.
In this in between time, some things don't line up perfectly (like that) and I apologize. I'm glad you enjoyed the training.
Re: Trying to show Churn (%) as a percentage and Churn (#) as a regular number
How about
CASE
WHEN `Churn Unit` = '% of Units' THEN CONCAT(ROUND(`Churn (%)`, 1), '%')
WHEN `Churn Unit` = '# of Units' THEN ROUND(`Churn (Units)`, 0)
END
ROUND(Churn (%), 1): Rounds the churn percentage to one decimal place. CONCAT(ROUND(Churn (%), 1), '%'): Appends a percentage sign to the rounded percentage value to display it as a percentage. ROUND(Churn (Units), 0): Rounds the churn units to the nearest whole number.
Re: Date range selector
You could do this in the ETL or a beastmode using the DATE_FORMAT() function:
DATE_FORMAT(`yourDateField`,'%d/%m/%y')
Re: Period over Period Beast Mode
Month or Quarter over last year's quarter would be something like:
WHEN `Period Over Period` = 'Quarter over Quarter LY' THEN (CASE WHEN QUARTER(Date) = QUARTER(CURDATE()) AND YEAR(Date) = YEAR(CURDATE())-1 THEN Amount END)
Repeat the same for MONTH
WHEN `Period Over Period` = 'Month over Month LY' THEN (CASE WHEN MONTH(Date) = MONTH(CURDATE()) AND YEAR(Date) = YEAR(CURDATE())-1 THEN Amount END)
As @ArborRose mentioned Weeks are a bit tricky because they can vary, it depends on what you consider last year's week. Is the the week number? Is it based on the start of the week? Should partial weeks be counted? Are you considering last year to be 52 weeks ago or 365 days ago?
Re: How to Join two Group By without matching pair column
Did exactly what I was thinking with the ETL, and it works perfectly:
