Re: MTD and YTD TOGGLE
FREAKIN GENIUS! EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED!!!!!! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Re: MTD and YTD TOGGLE
CASE statements are exclusive, so once it finds an option that is true, it exits and doesn't evaluate other options. Not sure really how to explain it better, but I do have the solution.
This is what variables are for! :) They are wonderful honestly. Create a variable that has your options of YTD and MTD, then create a Beast Mode like this:
(CASE
WHEN `Date Filter Variable` = 'MTD' THEN (CASE WHEN MONTH(`Start/Invoice Date`) = MONTH(CURRENT_DATE()) AND DAY(`Start/Invoice Date`) <= DAY(CURRENT_DATE()) THEN 'Yes' ELSE 'No' END)
WHEN `Date Filter Variable` = 'YTD' THEN (CASE WHEN DAYOFYEAR(`Start/Invoice Date`) <= DAYOFYEAR(CURRENT_DATE()) THEN 'Yes' ELSE 'No' END) ELSE 'Yes'
END)
Then add your Beast Mode as a filter (but not a quick filter, as that is what the variable will serve as) and select Yes.

Re: Pivot/Group By - Make Multiple rows into one row and add columns
@MichelleH thanks for extra input.
That is what I ended up doing - I filteredd out Evals and then I filtered out Surgeries, and then I joined them back in on eachother to get an output that had both on one line.
New to Data Analytics - Loving Visualizations, Problem Solving, and Data Empowerment
I've been with my current firm now for about 9 months and have loved being a part of a data-driven culture. As a recent graduate, this is my first "career" and I'm thankful to have been found by a wonderful company in a stimulating and exciting field.
Outside of problem solving at work, I love to do anything outside - hunting, fishing, hiking, camping. I'm refueled by sunshine and dirt under my feet! I especially love enjoying it with my wife and son.
My faith in Jesus Christ is a foundation for my whole life, and I hope to glorify Him in everything - including Domo!
Re: Limitations of SQL API
Based on documentation I have seen regarding Domo's SQL API, the following limitations apply:
- Joins, Subqueries, and CTEs:
- Joins are not allowed in the SQL API. This limitation extends to subqueries and Common Table Expressions (CTEs) as they are essentially advanced forms of joins and require similar underlying database operations.
- Joins are not allowed in the SQL API. This limitation extends to subqueries and Common Table Expressions (CTEs) as they are essentially advanced forms of joins and require similar underlying database operations.
- UPDATE and ALTER Statements:
- UPDATE and ALTER statements are not supported through the SQL API. The SQL API is primarily designed for querying data and does not support data modification or schema-altering operations.
These limitations are in place to ensure performance and security within the Domo environment. If you need to perform more complex operations involving joins or schema changes, you might need to use other tools within Domo or operations outside Domo before ingesting the data.
June Community Recap
Hello Domo Community!
Happy July! It's time to recap the Community Forums
top moments in June. Follow the discussion, ideas, and user links to contribute to June's hot content 🔥
Forum Frenzy Day
The first of its kind, we launched a Forum Frenzy — one full day where we recruited some Domo's internal experts (support, technical, consultant, education reps) to answer questions in real time. The average time to get an answer on June 26th was 12 minutes! Record breaking. We know many of you took advantage of this day (we saw a 66% increase in discussions this day). But if you missed it, keep your eyes out for another Forum Frenzy this fall.
Leaderboard Top 3
We love seeing the monthly competition. Huge thank you to @ColemenWilson, @david_cunningham, and @ArborRose!

June Community Member of the Month
@MichelleH shows up on the Community so consistently that she could be Community Member every month! However, this month in particular, despite a weird bug that was blocking Michelle from commenting, she continued to find ways to help others and answer questions. @MichelleH has answered hundreds of questions, made thousands of posts, and received hundreds of positive reactions…. all adding up to 7.5K reputation points. I don't know what we'd do without @MichelleH 's expertise. Thank you for being a key member of our community.

Re: Chart with two bars, two lines
@Sean_Tully - you can use the Line + Grouped Bar Chart and then just specify the number of series on the left scale in the properties.
This was built using a unique beast mode for each column/line
Re: Capability to Change size of Summary Number within Analyzer Card
@david_cunningham thank you! Needed this today!
