Re: Best Mode Formula for 2 Month Period
You could create a beast mode based on your date field by doing something like this:
CASE WHEN MOD(MONTH(`date`),2) = 0 THEN CONCAT( DATE_FORMAT(DATE_SUB(`date`, interval 1 month),'%b'),'-',DATE_FORMAT(`date`,'%b')) ELSE CONCAT( DATE_FORMAT(`date`,'%b'),'-',DATE_FORMAT(DATE_ADD(`date`, interval 1 month),'%b')) END
You would want to make sure your date field has dates for all months and then you want to make sure you click the checkbox "share calculation on dataset" when creating the beast mode and your other cards on the dashboard use that same dataset. This will ensure all the cards filter properly when selecting any of these month groups.
Postgres SSH Connector - Data Types not importing as expected
I am currently using the Postgres SSH Connector to import datasets from our warehouse into Domo. When I try to import a boolean column it is imported into Domo as a string, and often the primary key field which is an integer in the warehouse is imported as a float. This kind of defeats part of the point of using a connector to my warehouse, so that I can do the heavy lifting of transformations, pre-clean, and aggregate data in SQL before bringing it into Domo for BI.
Is the only option here to explicitly cast data types in the SQL Query pulling it into Domo? Or am I overlooking something that helps solve this problem?
Re: Counting the occurrence of a certain character in string
yes.
calculate the length of your string.
then subtract the length of your string if you replace the search character with a blank.
ex. length('mf_string') - length(replace( 'mf_string', 'M', ''))
Re: Adobe Analytics JWT v2 Connector Multiple Segments
Hi @t238, how did you go with this?
Admittedly, there's not much resources available online on Adobe Analytics connectors and Domo but what I understand from this article [https://domohelp.domo.com/hc/en-us/articles/360063205353-Adobe-Analytics-API-v2-Connector-with-JWT-authentication-and-Partition-Support], there's a limit to the segments you can bring through your report (i.e. Just 1 segment). Using the OAuth route, you can bring in multiple segments but that has a token refresh limitation. It's worth bringing your case to your Customer Success representative and/or arranging consulting hours if you haven't already and want to avoid the workaround of having multiple reports setup through JWT.
Also, there's the option of creating the report on the AA Workspace and then setting up a email forwarding connector to Domo. Food for thought if anything else.

Re: Line over BAR chart
Hi @ozarkram
I'd suggest utilizing a date offset dimension table to allow you to have the metrics for the prior year based on a specific date and then utilize a beast mode to bucket your numbers properly. I've done a writeup in the past on this here: https://dojo.domo.com/main/discussion/53481/a-more-flexible-way-to-do-period-over-period-comparisons#latest
You can then utilize a beast mode for this year and another for last year, put the last year beast mode first (these are the lines in the line + bar chart) and then put in this years beast mode.
Re: Line over BAR chart
If you want to got the bar and line route, I think you'll need to use a new date column to graph by. Right now, your data is looking something like this with the beast modes:
Date Inventory This Year Last Year
Wk 1 2022 1,000 sno
Wk 1 2021 1,000 sno
You've identified last year and this year, but last year will still be graphed using last year's dates. You'll need to use a beast mode to create a date column where this year's dates are unaffected, but when the date is last year, add one year to it.
Re: Problem with column sorting
Not 100% sure on how to fix the sorting when you don't have the column, but if you just don't want the column to show on the card, you can just hide it using Hide Columns under General chart properties.
