Re: Unable to Display Stacked Bar Due to Partition Beast Mode
@ST_-Superman-_ Thanks for replying! Sadly, I deleted this card, so I'm not sure if I had anything in the sort section. I believe I removed everything in sort and chose specific columns to see if that was affecting it, since I know Domo won't display values grouped together if they have different values in the columns that you're sorting on. I think the issue was something around the multiple partitions that conflicted or maybe Domo can only partition so many times?
I ended up trying a different approach by using some group by calculations in a dataflow for the different time period scenarios and then setup a variable to have the user select how they wanted to display, like months, quarters, years, etc. That ended up working pretty well.
I appreciate you reaching out to help tho!
Re: How do I create a calculated column based off information from another dataset?
You tagged this appropriately. For this solution you will need to join the two datasets either with an append or combine tile in MagicETL. (you could also use a MySQL dataflow if you are more familiar with SQL) From there you can do some window functions to calculate the total sales in prior 30 days, etc.
It's tough to get too technical on the solution without having a sample of your datasets, or a clearer understanding of their structure.
Re: filter large datasets
@seanwayland - I think the easiest way to do this would be with using the Views Explorer. Simply create a dataset view that filters your large dataset down to a single report (or group of reports if that makes sense) and build content or share from the dataset views. Then the page will only need to load in the much smaller dataset view when loading.
Re: Beast mode for dates
@mroker - in this case, because you have 4 dates in January…
Would you only want to see the customers associated with Jan 01, which would be 20? If so, then @MarkSnodgrass has a great solution for you.
Or do you want to see the sum of all the days (20, 22, 26, 29) or 97? or the average 24.25?
Re: Use an existing dataflow as a template???
I think we've settled on providing (configured) JSON string via an automated email as part of a workflow connected to an Intake form, with instructions only how to paste directly into a new Magic ETL and create it themselves. The new workflow capabilities in Domo are making this possible, with realatively easy setup.
Re: Ignore some page filters in cards or pages
You can use filter cards, instead of page filters. If you leverage filter cards then you can define which cards on the page those filter cards will interact with.
Re: Ignore some page filters in cards or pages
I did specify that the option was only for filter cards, and not page filters:
Re: Allow sorting of quick filters
I would actually like the ability to set the order. Sometimes you would prefer to not have them in either ascending or descending order. In my case, we have categories that we would like to see in a specific order and that does not align alphabetically. Would be nice to place the categories in the order I want to see them in the list.
