Custom Themes for DOMO Apps Beta
I'm wanting to know if/when we can create custom themes that are saved across for all app creation not just within the individual app being made. When you go to pick a theme there's a "CUSTOM THEMES" tab, but it is always empty because it is a brand new app being made. Just a suggestion because multiple users and DOMO creators in our org are wanting to build templates and themes to reproduce consistent apps. Pretty similar to the way you can make Brand Kits currently in DOMO. (I know apps is still in Beta, but wanted to hear if it's in the works and share feedback if not yet)

Re: How do I get started with MySQL Dataflows?
@TheScotsman To start, I would suggest learning more about SQL (specifically SELECT statements). Here is a good tutorial to get you started on the basics: . You can also learn more about MySQL Domo dataflows here:
While knowledge of SQL is definitely helpful, unless you have a pressing reason to use MySQL dataflows (complex joins, etc.) you are likely better off sticking with MagicETL since there are some significant performance gains.
Re: Trying to convert Month of the Year into Date with Magic ETL
You can use the formula tile and use the concat and date functions to build your date and make it be recognized as a date field.
Here is an example where the date will always be in 2018
DATE(CONCAT(`Month of the year`,'/1/2018'))
Here is another example where it will extract the year from the current date
DATE(CONCAT(`Month of the year`,'/1/',YEAR(CURRENT_DATE())))
Re: ETL calculation to work out hours taken from a start and finish timestamp
@robdmitchell There are a couple different ways you could do this in MagicETL:
- Date Operations Tile: Use the Difference between dates operation, with hours as the unit of measurement
- Formula Tile: Add a field with the following formula:
DATEDIFF(`DateTimeOff`,`DateTimeOn`)*24 + TIME_TO_SEC(TIMEDIFF(`DateTimeOff`,`DateTimeOn`))/(60*60)
Re: Combining data in two separate columns
@ScottLeeds I recommend using a beast mode with the IFNULL function to default to the Pre-Lease % Summer 2024 value when present, otherwise use Pre-Lease % 2024:
IFNULL(`Pre-Lease % Summer 2024`,`Pre-Lease % 2024`)
Re: Keep beast mode field calculated on total value when filtered
Agree with @MarkSnodgrass, FILTER NONE option on a FIXED function will allow you to filter your original data but keep the entire dataset as part of the calculation.
Re: Ability to impersonate a user
This idea has already been submitted here:
Consider adding your vote to this idea and hopefully it will be implemented by Domo at some point.
Re: Keep beast mode field calculated on total value when filtered
You are going to want to add a fixed function into your beast mode. Look at this KB article on how to do it, specifically the Filter None section.
