Feedback on Azure Open AI Connector Authentication Configuration

Dear Team,

I would like to share some feedback regarding the current Azure Open AI connector configuration. At present, the connector requires both the Azure Open AI Key and the Service Principal Client ID along with the Client Secret for authentication. Ideally, only one of these methods should be sufficient to authenticate the Azure Open AI resource.

My suggestion is to streamline the configuration by removing the Azure Open AI Key and retaining only the Service Principal Client ID and Client Secret as authentication parameters. This would simplify the process while ensuring secure and effective access to the Azure Open AI resource.

Microsoft supports keyless authentication for Azure Open AI, as outlined in the following documentation: Keyless Connections to Azure Open AI.

I kindly request you to review the feasibility of implementing a single authentication method in the Azure Open AI connector.

Thank you for considering this suggestion, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Best regards,

Akhil
