yep what aaron said - do's and dont's., how to's, functions that work - anything so we can avoid running into walls.

I think you guys took my note on "open in new tab" as the default behavior -- thank you!!
-
@ckwright if there isn't a wiki article on this, could there be? there are some really useful knowledge base articles about beast mode writing - maybe this is worthy of the same.

I am seeing inconsistent performance with "open in a new tab" when I pin my favorite content and configure settings. I LOVE that feature, would really like it to be reliable. I have tried unchecking / saving / rechecking it. I have tried deleting and re-adding it. None have worked. I have not cleared my cache.

that makes sense, too, and i love the split filter so i want it to remain happy :)

Yes please!!

i totally forgot about this beta - perhaps because it's not visible! I don't have a big instinct to right-click in Domo, probably because it didn't do anything in the early years - just calling that out! I have finally gotten used to it inside of Analyzer (Ex. right-click to open the y-axis menu) but I don't have much of a…

The nested pages are causing extra clicks, I would really love if search could be handled the way it is in older navigation. And, with nesting, to remain anchored under Dashboards rather than requiring a bread crumb step to the parent page of the nested page. It's just a click or two but it's cumbersome!

@ckwright I do notice though that classic dashboards and now apps do not always render the card images without having to reload my tab. I often get headers and blank cards - if my page doesn't immediately show "Loading data…" in the middle of the cards there, I know I will have to refresh my tab and not navigate away until…
-
next time i run into it, yes - thanks!
-
I also experience slow loading speeds and partial rendering with app components

Would really appreciate the ability to open in a new tab by default. Right now I have to click three dots and then select from a menu on every single item, which can be hard when moving quickly. I'd love to make it a default behavior or a setting to control at the Workspace level.
-
Definitely fighting the instinct to move via click-and-drag, would love to see that become available. And/or better ordering inside a folder - "Name" does NOT give me A-Z here… though if I flip to tile view and then go into the folder the tiles are A-Z.
-
When I use the three dots and "Move", the folder I want is not an option:

Running into a big issue today - the Dashboard and App icons are NOT appearing by default for new users. They can't find any content unless they search and pin those things themselves. This seems faulty to me - no?
-
Also noticing in Admin > People you can't see what Apps they have (you can see Dashboards, Groups) - we can find our way to this info, but would love a module there.
-
The only issue I've had is that I love when it uses an App's logo, but when I toggled "open in new tab" (THE BEST feature), the logo no longer rendered. So, I have the logo in place, and I right click and then open in a new tab so I get both elements. Speaking of the logos - I would love if we could have simple letters…

A separate comment on this - I downloaded an App to pdf, but my app component did not render. I'm using a gallery tile and populating an icon from a URL based on passing a filter. It appears in Domo, but does not appear on my export, nor on any scheduled reports from within App studio. I think getting these images to…
-
I was actually going to leave a different comment on this topic - I want to expose the download to PDF option, but I don't want all users to have that access. However, I don't want to universally restrict a user from downloading/exporting Domo content to PDF - just this one particular app. My CEO should be able to download…

I'd love to see more development around annotations. AFAIK, they are only available on date-range axes, and there isn't a grant to give a Participant access to write them. They also seem to add in reverse order (ex. if you have one, it's A, but if you have two, A moves to B and so on) and that's not always intuitive.…

I'd love to have a filter for 0 outputs, too. sometimes dead dataflows sit around and it would be nice to filter and quickly clean them up.
-
Exposing the day of the week is a great idea, and build on thoughts I've routinely had that I would love to see some adjustments to the calendar/date-based filter. It really doesn't function like any other tool in Domo, and I find it super cumbersome. As a workaround, sometimes I build date filters as dropdown menus with a…

Too sweet, thank you @AnnaYardley! I was indeed at the kickoff session for the Community way back when, and I'm glad this space is thriving today. Always happy to be in good Domo company :)

Agree with this - I usually give the card a dummy title so it's SUPER searchable, then add to my app, then change the title back. Extra steps that work, but more sort/filter/tag options in the UI would help on this front.
-
commenting on my own thing — i realize if i double click the dropdown menu it essentially selects all the text so then i can type over it or delete but… still feels like extra stuff
-
Agreed! The parent page is added to their navigation, but content has the "request access" mask over it which feels sloppy if you forget to permission them to the parent page itself, too
-
I'd like to be able to do this, and to control the sort. Quick filters always sort alpha-numerically, but sometimes you want descending, for instance.
-
Hey Kim - table cards are the ones where you CAN'T alert off of the data values. Summary number is the only way to get your alert to fire. I work around this by alerting on a bar chart, for instance, or on the dataset itself. Sometimes I build dataset views purely to aggregate the data I need to make my dataset alert…

Yeah I missed the part about copying across datasets - that's really the headache, isn't it?
