Formatting for Quick Filter Values

I'd like to be able to apply different formatting to the values in a Quick Filter list, just like I can change them in the visualization.
Example use case: my report users are in Europe, so they use date format MM/DD/YYYY. The dataset date values are in DD/MM/YYYY. I can easily update this in a visualization, but the Quick Filter list still shows them as the US format, causing confusion.
(I'm aware I can add a new column to reformat via Beast Mode, but it would be really nice to be able to do it the same way we can for values.)

I'd like to be able to do this, and to control the sort. Quick filters always sort alpha-numerically, but sometimes you want descending, for instance.
