Currently, Domo supports publishing Dashboards/Pages to other instances via the standard Publish functionality. However, there is no option to publish a Report Builder View. This limitation restricts users who rely on Report Builder to create modular, reusable report views that should be shareable across Domo instances — similar to dashboards.
Requested Enhancement
Enable Publish support for Report Builder Views, providing functionality similar to existing Page/Dashboard publishing. Specifically:
- Add “Publish” or “Publish to Instance” as an available action in Report Builder.
- Preserve the report layout, filters, and data sources in the published copy.
- Allow views to be published individually or as part of a dashboard package.
- Ensure data permissions, PDP, and dataset lineage are maintained consistently with current Page publishing behaviour.
Business Justification
- Reusability: Enables reusing Report Builder views across multiple environments (e.g., Dev → UAT → Prod, or internal → client instances).
- Efficiency: Reduces manual recreation effort for reports that already exist in other instances.
- Consistency: Ensures design and KPI alignment across published views.
- Adoption: Encourages more teams to use Report Builder as a modular reporting tool, confident their work can be shared/published like dashboards.
