Our organization considers non-interactive, service-to-service authentication a critical capability for integrating Domo with external systems like Databricks and other enterprise platforms.
At present, Domo’s OAuth implementation only supports interactive (user-based) authentication, which requires individual user credentials. This creates several challenges:
- Integrations are tied to a single user account.
- Automated data pipelines and system-to-system processes are difficult to maintain.
- There are potential security and operational risks if a user account changes or is deactivated.
Request:
We request that Domo add support for non-interactive OAuth authentication (service principal or equivalent) that allows secure, automated, and user-independent authentication between systems.
Value / Impact:
- Enables secure, fully automated integrations without relying on personal user accounts.
- Reduces operational and security risks tied to user-based tokens.
- Improves scalability and reliability of enterprise workflows and scheduled jobs.
- Aligns with industry-standard best practices for cloud platform authentication.
This capability would be a significant enhancement for enterprise customers and greatly simplify integration management across systems.
