Vertical and Horizontal Reference Lines

Analyzer has some tools for creating reference lines: they offer a "goal" option on y-axis fields that allow you to enter a constant value, max and min lines, as well as regression lines, projections, and total lines.
I'd love to be able to have more control over reference lines, including:
- Vertical reference lines:
- For example, I may want a vertical reference line to delineate a change at a certain point in time, such as a vertical bar at March of 2020 showing the covid pandemic.
- Both vertical or horizontal reference lines based on a field or calculated field with aggregation options (total, average, sum, min, max etc.) or as a constant
- EX: Say I have a field called "Value" and a field called "Target" and a filter that includes "Product". I could graph the "value" on the y axis, "date" on the x axis, and the average of "Target" as a reference line. As I filter through products, the target would change based on the selected product, rather than being restricted to a manually entered constant value.
- Ability to label the reference line however I want, either with a field or custom text, not stuck with just "Min" "Max" or "Goal"
Tableau has a great way to do this that can be understood at this link Reference Lines, Bands, Distributions, and Boxes - Tableau

Have you taken a look at Scale Marker chart properties? They currently have the limitation of only one per chart but you may be able to do several of the functions you are looking for. Much more flexible than the goal line.

I hadn't played with the scale marker enough—it does allow some of those lines! I guess I should edit the ask to signify that I'd like the scale marker to update to include field aggregations, allow multiple lines/bands, allow labeling with a field, not force the value to be displayed, to play nicer with a date axis, and just generally to be able to change based on interactions.
Note on the x-axis scale marker: At least so far, in trying to put a scale marker on the "Bottom" axis that ranges from 2018 to 2028 in years, I can't get a vertical reference line on the year 2020. A value of 2 seems to put it between 2020 and 2021, 1 puts it between 2019 and 2020 and 1.5 puts it in that same place. I also can't label using a field. Any tips are appreciated
