Currently, a user has to go through multiple steps to add a card to a Collection within Favorites or Overview. Instead, allow the user to select from existing collections or create and add to a new collection when adding a card to Overview or Favorites.

  • What are the multiple steps to add a card to Favorites? I just tested, and you click the wrench and Add to Favorites, right? Is it different for some end users?

It seems like adding a dialog window would add steps.

What access level do the users in question have?

  • @DataMaven My apologies; I meant to save this as a draft earlier, but it should be ready now. The request concerns the Collections underneath these sections that we've set up to keep reports organized.

  • @Engineer_0 - That wouldn't be a 'we' thing, though, since Overview and Favorites are personal to each user. It really depends on the access levels of the end users because if they have the ability to create pages, they should be doing so. Overview is basically a development space that ideally would not have much on it, and Favorites would be most used by users who don't have a high level of access.

We all end up with way too much stuff on our overview pages, but that doesn't really apply to this idea. lol

Anyhow - I am curious about the way your organization is using these pages. I don't think adding a step to the process of adding favorites is necessarily the answer. It would have an impact on everyone. It also deepens the use of an outdated functionality of Domo (collections).

  • I understand Collections are unique to the user, but I'm curious how that changes anything. The goal is to keep cards organized for the user in these sections.
