Default is reverse legend on a bar chart

I think it seems a bit odd that the default on a bar chart shows the legend upside down. I realize there is an option to reverse the legend order, but I don't know why the default is to have the legend upside down?

My idea is for the legend to follow the same order as the bar chart and you can select to reverse them as opposed to defaulting to be the wrong way round.
