I also recently deleted numerous sub-dashboards by accident :( Ideally you receive a message similar to Datasets section, where it shows the actual Impact if you try to delete a dataset or dataflow that is active/has down-streamed content (e.g. when deleting dashboard, you see exactly how many sub-dashboards are impacted).
