You can indeed add the count or absolute number. You can do this by going into the Chart Properties, selecting the "Data Label Settings", and then inputting these two macros %_PERCENT_OF_TOTAL (%_VALUE) into the "Value" category. That is correct. Other charts such as the bar chart allow for alerts to be created off of line items as well as summary numbers.
