I think I found my problem. I added a FIXED function to my beast mode while doing some testing before realizing I could get the results I wanted without using FIXED and didn't revert that in the beast mode I ended up using as the filter. Removing the FIXED function and adding the beast mode to the card filters made it so…

Yes, it's saved to the dataset. That was the first thing I checked when it didn't work.

That is similar to what I did for the first iteration of this card. The request was weekly intervals over a fixed period of time so I was able to keep the size of the dataset down with a count for each date/metric. This one will be a few orders of magnitude larger if I build it the same way, so hopefully I can avoid that!
