Default Value change from the dashboard

One of the big parts of our dashboard is allowing our users to set goals and track their progress toward their goals. I am currently using a textbox variable to let them change the goal, but whenever they refresh the goal goes away. So they end up having to go into the card to change it. While this isnt the hardest thing to do, it creates friction and our product lives and dies by ease of use.
