DomoStats - User Level Page Views History

We have a need to dynamically display to each end user their most visited dashboards and we do so by collecting how often they visit a page and also by a pages last accessed date. However, this data is always a day behind because the only place that records this data for a user is stored is in the Activity Log Governance dataset (which is limited once a day refreshes).

It think it would be beneficial to have a new DomoStats report that gave us a history of page views by user that records and dates for every instance where they've accessed a page that can run on schedules faster than once per day. That way we can easily see and govern what pages are being used, who accessed them, what time etc. This is great information to help people discover new/existing dashboards based on access/usage trends.

  • A workaround (if you have workflows) would be to create a workflow that updates the data every 15 minutes or hour. A word of caution, if you are on consumption model of Domo this would incur high usage costs.

I thought about that, but we were really trying to avoid that kind of credit consumption. :)

  • If you don't want the credit consumption, you don't want the more frequent updates. A request to run domostats dataset more frequently is already an idea requested. Most visited dashboards is definitely something that can be done with day-old data. Think about why a last accessed date would need to be less than a day old and what actions would be taken based on that information?
