TO_CHAR / Formatting functions in beast modes

There's may times when I need to do a custom summary number that's concatenated with other strings causing me to lose the ability to format the number. So I have to write a long beast mode just to format the number correctly. Like https://dojo.domo.com/discussion/52685/domo-idea-exchange-beast-modes-abbreviated-summary-number#latest or https://dojo.domo.com/discussion/52677/domo-ideas-conference-beast-modes-number-formatting#latest. It'd be great if we had the option to call a function to the the formatting like TO_CHAR from the SQL world to pass in a value and format string to properly format values as a string instead of these long beast modes.

  • Agree with this and there have been other Idea Exchange posts with the same suggestion, but you can't vote them up anymore. See this similar one as an example: https://dojo.domo.com/discussion/21844/beast-mode-number-format-function

Would be extremely helpful to be able to call a Format_Currency function for example to quickly format numbers being used in a complex summary number.

Looking for this as well, but unfortunately this idea has been archived and the links shared are now broken.
