While not ideal because I wanted to run multiple different metrics off of the same dataset (which I guess I still could by constraining to only union A or B...), this still is a good work around…

When creating simple sums for each column there is no issue as you say, however I want one of the columns to ignore a specific filter. In what you describe all columns would be filtered, and I do not end up with the example table that I describe…
