I had a very similar problem and domo support created a beast mode field for each column of data that I was trying to summarize. Essentially they made made a filter to distinguish alpha from numeric characters and filtered out all alpha characters. You could use their logic to replace the alpha characters with 0's. Here is…

I had the same question and found out that the JSON connector isn't public facing. If you want to be able to add a connection to it, you'll need to contact DOMO customer support(801-805-9505) and they'll help you out. I called and it took them no time to set it up.
