@seeitall00: I agree with the other answers here. Hopefully you find @btm's example helpful. But since @DaniBoy mentioned me, I also wanted to provide this direct answer to your additional request for clarification "Is there a feature in Domo similar to Tableau's level of detail expressions (LOD)" Yes, we accomplish data…

@McSwag: Great question! I work as a product manager here at Domo, and we've received this same request from several customers. This feature is currently in development and will be available for beta early 2017. Would you be open to reviewing some of our designs to make sure they cover your use cases? If so, send me a…

@josh-m: Great question, Josh! Here's a related post that answers your question: https://dojo.domo.com/t5/Card-Building/Domo-Online-forms-adding-columns-to-an-existing-webform/m-p/6387#M328 The short answer is no, there isn't currently an easier way. You should be able to copy and paste your data from one web form to the…

@RamuS: I saw you already submitted this idea on the Ideas Exchange here: https://dojo.domo.com/t5/Ideas-Exchange/Alert-and-Notification-for-Drilling-charts/idi-p/15655 Thanks for doing that! Confirmed that you cannot create alerts on drill views today, but we have captured this request. It's on our roadmap. Any other…

There isn't a Magic ETL transform action to simply add a new column. The Combine Columns is one of the shortcuts. You can also do an Add Constants step followed by a Set Column Value step depending on what you're trying to achieve. Adding a column would be a helpful tool. I'm not sure if there is an idea in the Ideas…
-
@bstephens: I was able to create a Magic ETL dataflow that joins on any compatible column from two different datasets. See the screenshot below which joins on Name column and Id column and outputs the dataset seen below. I believe that is possible. Maybe could you clarify what you're trying to do if this doesn't answer…

@iQuanti: Can you clarify what you're trying to do with the data? Right now it looks like the data has one row per day per product, and you're looking to get it to have one row per product that shows the current and previous day level as well as the percent change between current and previous day. Is that correct?
-
@BSwedenberg: Can you give me a little bit more information on what you're seeing? I'm playing with the time grain on my card, and it seems to be working. I choose This Month and see June 2016 data. I choose Previous Month and see May 2016 data. See below. It's certainly possible I'm misunderstanding so maybe you can post…

@eizquierdo: Sorry I must have forgotten to hit post on my last reply. My thoughts were along the same lines as yours. Do the comparison in a dataflow or beastmode and then alert on a new card. All the solutions in the product today would be workarounds. However, I've gotten interest from other users to be able to set…
-
@eizquierdo: Very cool use case! I'm the product manager for alerts here at Domo. Just to make sure I understand, you're essentially setting a daily sales goal target. When your sales for the day go over the goal, the alert would trigger. In this case, you'd like that goal to be the max value from the Sales Forecast…
-
@Chips: The second part of your request was to be able to use information about the new records in the alert message (e.g. Amount, Oppty Name, Region). As the product manager for alerts, I can tell you that we're currently designing some new features related to alert context. Can I put you down as an interested…

Ok so I've been looking for ways to just identify new records when a dataset refreshes. In order for this dataflow to work, your dataset must have a primary key or some unique identifier. Setup steps: * Set up a Magic ETL dataflow that simple takes your dataset as an input and have it send the rows to an output dataset…
-
@MitchyMitch8: I actually wrote a dataflow last week that can do this. I'll post it later on tonight.
-
@dbaydina: Right, I hear what you are saying. Being able to basically see the changes in your dataset as almost a new dataset to build cards off of, alert on, etc. I'm not aware of a way to do that in Domo today, but there are some features on our roadmap which will make this possible. Again, this idea has a similar…

@nbolner: the card is showing up now. last week there was just a broken image link. must have been a problem with the dojo that was resolved. now that i see the chart, my understanding is that you want to set an alert to see if the blue line is above or below a certain threshold at a certain time of the day. is that…
-
Hmm. I'm not seeing an example of the graph. I see a yellow triangle in your post. Can you take a double check and see if the image was right?
-
@cameronhobbs Glad I was able to help! Like I said, feel free to reach out to me if I can get you any other info. I'm anxious to hear if it works for you.
-
@cameronhobbs: I was working on some DataFlows today and saw your comment here so I took it as a challenge. The ideal would have been to use one input dataset, send it through a value mapper action that searches for null values in a column and replaces with 0, and then output one dataset. I tried to configure that, but you…
-
@dbaydina: just to make sure i understand your question, the pipeline example you used would show how a projected/realized sales volume changes day to day or week to week, but you'd like to see which deals are new in the pipeline, which deals fell out, maybe which deals changed stage, were won/lost, etc. does that sound…
-
@nbolner i have a couple of ideas on how to help, but i want to get a little more information to make sure i'm on the right track. couple of questions: * what does the card look like you're using to set the alerts? can you post a screenshot? that would be helpful. * what data do you use to tell if your leads are where they…
-
@HelenOBrien: good answer from @n8isjack-ret about how to set the alert up. if your question refers more about the ability to subscribe your manager to that alert, domo does not currently support that feature, but there is an idea you can upvote to add your use cases and stay up-to-date on…
-
hey @Shevy: a lot of people have had this same question, but they've come through support instead of the dojo. i think that's because the alerts as they are created now say "Alert me if XXX is greater than YYY" but as you mentioned, they only actually alert if the value crosses the threshold of YYY in the specified…

i realize this issue is already solved, but just in case anyone ends up here, this idea has been submitted here: http://dojo.domo.com/t5/Ideas-Exchange-suggest-and-vote/Ability-to-subscribe-users-or-groups-to-an-alert/idi-p/1508 please go there to upvote, add your use cases, and stay up to date on progress towards delivery.
