If you mean to use a function called Lag in a Formula tile, I don't see that function as an option. I assume I have misunderstood. Mike

Hmm.. I can't seem to make that work. It still calculates the NetOH using just the qty ordered - qty shipped from that line, then recalculates on the next occurrence of the part number. So results look like this: customer item Qtyordered - qtyshipped Total OH net OH Acme 034662 24 42 18 Acme 034662 12 42 30

I think I was unclear in my explanation. Each of those 4 values are in the same column on different rows. I need a way to look at a column and determine if the first or last character is non-numeric. Thanks, Mike
