Employee Retention Rate over time
Hi,
I'm trying to calculate employee retention rate over time (in quarters ideally). The data that I'm pulling in has each employee's start date and end date (if they've left).
The equation for retention I think I want to use is:
(headcount (Q-1) - sum(leavers))/headcount (Q-1)
Any ideas how to do this? I'm struggling to use cummulative totals and operate on them.

Can you provide a few sample rows of your data set?
My guess is that something like this should work:
(
SUM(`headcount`) - SUM(`leavers`)
)
/
SUM(`headcount`)But that would depend entirely on how your dataset is built
