This is what we use for tenure in years:
DATEDIFF(CURDATE(),`hire_date`)/365

You could do something like this:
AVG(DATEDIFF(CURRENT_DATE(), `Hire_Date`))
DateDiff using Current_Date and Hire Date will give you the # of days each employee has been employeed. Averaging that by office should give you what you're looking for.
