The beastmode is an issue because you're telling you you want a string returned if if meets your WHEN criteria (student name) but if it doesn't return a number. So depending on the type of card you want how to achieve it may be different. For example, if you were to just use a textbox card you can achieve your result…

Depending on your data @MarkSnodgrass is correct, can you provide some information about your dataset if you don't get it working? We would be able to tell you exactly what to do
-
I think you should decide what is more valuable, the quick filters on each card preset to something specific or the ability to filter all the cards at once and go with what makes sense for your use case. Now I'd say if you go with the page filters leave the quick filters available as well but you'd have to default them to…

You should see it once you click on a section then lower you'll see "Start a Topic". Welcome to Dojo!

This thread is old so incase this person doesn't respond it appears they coded a script that instead of uploading new files to S3 all the time they just added new data to one file, then Domo could just be set on a schedule Ex. Hourly, to do a REPLACE and always look at that one file. It depends on the systems your data is…

@nzngsh Thanks, voted!

What's the data source coming from when you pull it into Domo? If it's Excel/CSV you could do a workaround where you manually add an older date like 2016-01-01 and have the per month value be 1504, just make sure when you build your cards you make sure the starting date is always after that, then your running total will…

So is Column B a running total of Column C? If so you can do the following https://dojo.domo.com/t5/Card-Building/cumulative-sum/m-p/42971/highlight/true#M5872
-
What if you just created a calculated field and do AVG(`column`) * 100 Then use that new columns as the summary value
-
Oh nice! I didn't realize the limiting of the data table impacted the card, figured it was just a how much data do you want to see in this data table preview. Cool
-
What about saving the page filter to the page? I believe that defaults it to what you want, but the user can then change it after.
-
Unfortunately I don't think their is a "simple" way to do this. If you're willing to do a dataflow and your table is ordered by something you could do the same method outlined here using your columns https://dojo.domo.com/t5/Card-Building/Ranking-Bar-Chart-Limitation/m-p/44085/highlight/true#M6040
-
An ETL dataflow could help with this. Our goal would be to rank all the products based on some column, I assume you want Net Sales and then store that rank in a new column so that we can use it to filter on cards, so in the case of our simple bar chart we could filter where our new column we'll call SalesRank is <=5. Do…
-
One way you can do this is the following: Given this sample dataset You can can set it the following way to have $Net Sales along the Y axis and units sold along the top. So for this example we see that Cinnamon buns sold the most units but made the least amount of money since they are cheaper than all the other items.…

I have yet to see that be a feautre though I think it would be valuable. I'd recommend submitting it as an idea suggestion, I'll vote for it.
-
Commenting so I can get updates if someone has a good solution, I have the same question.
-
Have you tried doing the date conversion in a dataflow? Then the output dataset would just contain the "hireDate" column with the correct info, no need for an additional beastmode if you do it that way. MySQL dataflow could do the trick https://www.w3resource.com/mysql/date-and-time-functions/mysql-convert_tz-function.php
-
Doesn't seem to be an option, only in table cards. I'm not sure if it's still in beta or not I assumed it was, if so you can email betafeedback@domo.com with that suggestion.
-
You got it pal!
-
Oh interestings, I feel like their developer documentation is a little lacking, I've read through quite a bit but never came across doing it that way, maybe the documentation exists but I haven't seen it.
-
Have you taken a look at this yet? https://developer.domo.com/docs/dataset-api-reference/dataset#Query%20a%20DataSet You should be able to provide Domo a SQL statement to choose which records you get. Example from that documentation: POST https://api.domo.com/v1/datasets/query/execute/ce79d23f-ef7d-4318-9787-ebde54a8c5b4…

What are you planning to do with this report? Is just building this report in Domo an option? What I mean is create a basic table card that only contains what you want and then export that. Based on this dataset You can do a count of any column and it'll turn each owner to unique, and you can choose to disregard the other…

If you haven't tried, try using the Domo Workbench utility to upload the csv. Within it their is an option to view and change the schema, so if it goes to Domo as a number (LONG or DECIMAL) you will be able to change that column to be STRING. Then when you upload it should reflect that.
-
Here's the trick. On the card date settings leave the entire range of dates you want available to the user. Then add a filter using the date field you want and click the "Display as Quick Filter" option. Then in the analyzer go to the quick filter that shows on the right and switch the date range to what you want it to be…

I wish I knew who here has the most experience with custom connectors. I could definitely get you an answer doing it via the API but hopefully someone can chime in.
-
I only dabbled with the custom connector development, I mostly use the SDK to send to Domo via API so you'll have to forgive my lack of knowledge. Instead of attempting to parse it all at once maybe try looping and adding it by row? The first JSON tree you'd want to grab would be response['data'][0] which "should" give you…
-
Which connector is it exactly that you're using? I haven't worked much with the Domo JSON connectors but generally if working with JSON in code you would have the JSON assigned to a variable say "response" and to do what you're asking it would be response['data']. This would make the root of the JSON everything under the…
-
I only know of that being an option for embedding, within Domo I haven't seen a way, you might want to submit an idea suggestion if noone else knows of a way to do it within Domo
-
@user10383 Any luck, or any feedback on your immediate need based on what I wrote?
-
You cannot use aggregate beast modes as filters as documented HERE. You're correct that MagicETL or a MySQL dataflow could achieve this so that you can filter. The MySQL dataflow syntax should be similar or the same. This MySQL dataflow I thought would do the trick but I'm getting an error: Source…
