Can you set a max number of lines on a multi-line graph?

I am working on a dashboard that utilizes a multi-line graph. For this dashboard, you filter down to the specific products that you want to compare and then look at the line graphs where they are overlaid together. This dashboard has worked fine in practice, but if anyone goes directly to the card or accidentally resets the dashboard level filters, the chart is overloaded with a line for every brand in the dataset (1000+ lines). I am wondering if there is a way to set an upper limit for the number of lines that can be shown on the graph at once in order to improve the user experience
