Period over period gauge

Hi, I have crated a dashboard with a period over period gauge.

When I set the date range to "This year" which then looks from Jan - Aug as those are the only months this year with data I have noticed the previous period say 1 year ago is looking at the whole year. This obviously gives a silly variance.

Please tell me there is a way so it just matches on the data available for this year. The is vital to us as users just want to look at performance year to date,

Use Year To Date as the option instead. Alternatively you can reformat your data and use a custom date dimension offset to better handle period over period analysis.
