formula to include values that don't contain string

Is there a way write a formula that includes a field that doesn't contain a certain string? So for example, I'd like to name a value in a column based on other columns where if the event_name contains "Add-To-Cart" and the page_location doesn't contain "shop", then it'll be "Add to Cart from XXX"...

when `EVENT_NAME` like '%Add-To-Cart%' and `EVENT_PARAMS_PAGE_LOCATION` <> '%/shop/%' then 'Add to Cart from XXX'

@NathanDorsch It's the correct syntax. Sometimes the syntax highlighting has a few issues highlighting everything correctly depending on the keywords.

  • When you want to exclude something that contains a certain string, you need to use NOT LIKE. So your beast mode would look like this:

case when `EVENT_NAME` like '%Add-To-Cart%' and `EVENT_PARAMS_PAGE_LOCATION` not like '%/shop/%' then 'Add to Cart from XXX' end

  • thanks... I do notice though, the 'like' gets highlighted purple, but not the 'not'.... is that okay?

  • The not should be purple. It's hard to tell what's going on with just the small section of code. Could just be a bug and you can see if the beast mode still works and is valid. Also check if all the other syntax is correct and that you're not missing any and's, when's, etc.
