Dynamic texbox value update based on date range

Hi

I have a Domo dashboard that utilized a few dynamic textboxes with a summary number and change %. Right now, my table only has current month and same month prior year data (update on the back end) to utilize the Dynamic textbox's features for first and last values.

How can I use this chart or any other chart type to display a summary total, with a change % that updates when date ranges are selected?

Appreciate your feedback.

    Hi @user057613

You can utilize a beast mode to calculate the % change.

    (SUM(`Current Value`) - SUM(`Prior Value`))
    /
    SUM(`Prior Value`)

(Make sure to format this number as a percentage)

If you want to combine that with the total amount  you can utilize the CONCAT function and do some % formatting.

    CONCAT(
    SUM(`Current Value`),
    '(',
    ROUND((SUM(`Current Value`) - SUM(`Prior Value`))
    /
    SUM(`Prior Value`) * 100, 2),
    '%)'
    )

  • Thank you @GrantSmith. How would the beastmode calculation and the Concat work with the day/month filters? For example, if my table has spend by day for 2019 and 2020 and I need the textbox card to show aggregated spend for a month in 2020 with % change from 2019 based on date filters, how would the below work?

  • @GrantSmith Thank you, that worked! Took me a second to get what you were saying.
